Take Action. Save Lives.It’s law! Governor Tom Wolf signed Senate Bill 595 requiring insurers to cover breast MRIs and ultrasounds for women with very dense breasts or other high-risk factors who are insured under Pennsylvania law. 

Under the law:

Insurers are required to cover breast cancer screenings including MRI and ultrasound for Pennsylvania women with:

  • High-risk factors for breast cancer such as a personal history of breast cancer, a family history of breast cancer or a genetic predisposition
  • Extremely dense breast tissue
  • Heterogeneously dense breast tissue with one other high risk factor
